BFM welcomes Kickstart support scheme from FIESTA
British Furniture Manufacturers’ partnership with Furniture and Interiors Education, Skills and Training Alliance (FIESTA), will allow members to access new Government funding to support job creation.
Kickstart is part of the Chancellor’s ‘Plan for Jobs’ and funds six-month work placements for young people aged 16 to 24.
FIESTA’s dedicated Kickstart service aims to help businesses access the programme – which includes a requirement for employers to provide a minimum of 30 work placements – and tackle the bulk of the administration.
Nick Garratt at BFM said: “The Kickstart program supports employers to provide 25 hours a week at minimum wage as well as covering employer NI and enrolment contributions for each young person who takes up a placement.
“By joining forces with FIESTA, BFM are part of a wider scheme, breaking down the barriers to accessing this funding.
“BFM members can also access FIESTA’s dedicated support service to help them navigate the applications process.”
FIESTA aims to encourage and inspire new talent to join the industry and support employers to engage actively in education, skills and training by providing them with the guidance they need to make informed decisions.
Carmen Daley at FIESTA, said: “Through the FIESTA initiative, BFM members have access to a free service which allows them to utilise this Government initiative with ease.
“We would urge members to take advantage of this phenomenal regeneration tool.”
