Big fall in furniture production

According to the Office of National Statistics (ONS), the seasonally adjusted index of all production in the UK fell by 1% in April 2012 compared to April last year and by 0.3% for manufacturing.  However, the manufacture of furniture showed one of the largest declines, falling by 11% and this is highlighted in the ONS report.  When adjustments for seasonal variations are removed, the decline in furniture manufactured was greater at 11.7%.
