New Chairman at BFM
Brian Ahern of Corndell Furniture Co Ltd, has been the Chairman of BFM for 18 months and in that time has seen much change, including a new MD. As Brian has now stepped down, having completed his stint, the BFM would like to thank him for all his hard work over the period of his Chairmanship.
Jackie Bazeley, MD said that “Brian has been invaluable to the organisation and done a sterling job. She went on to express her personal thanks for his help and support in her first years in office and looks forward to working with him as a Director on the BFM Board”.
John Alston (left) is the new BFM Chiarman. He comes from a family who have been involved in furniture since 1776 when they had a repair business in Chelsea.
Today, Alstons (Upholstery) Ltd is one of the largest family owned manufacturers in the UK. John is the fifth generation of Alstons’ and as chairman he is responsible for leading the company to continually achieve market success. John is also president of the European Furniture Manufacturers Federation (UEA).
Jackie Bazeley, Managing Director of BFM, said, ‘I have known John for some time and BFM is very lucky to have secured someone with such business talent and enthusiasm for the furniture trade. BFM can only become stronger with John at the helm’.
