London Fabric 2016

After a highly successful event in February 2015, the BFM is delighted to report that the London Fabric Show 2016 was a great success again. 

The second BFM sponsored London Fabric Show to be held at Chelsea FC saw individual visitor numbers increase by 88% on the first day and by 58% overall.  The number of visiting companies attending the show rose by 33% over the 2 days.  See list of comapnies that attended show on one or both days.

Visitors were treated to a wide variety of fabrics from some of the best producers from Belgium, Italy, Spain, Turkey and the UK.  Both exhibitors and visitors expressed their satisfaction with the Show, pledging to return in 2017.

The UK’s Abraham Moon & Sons said  “We have been pleased with the quality of the buyers we have seen - old and new, the venue works well and will definitely be back next year.”

Koen Mortier from Belgian Escolys said “It has been a good show for us, we do a lot of business with UK companies and our UK customers are very important to us, so this is a good place for us to come and do business.  We have seen many of our customers and also met new ones.  We will return.”

Visiting the Show Jo Moore from Spink & Edgar, said “There are some great exhibitors here and it has been very useful for us to attend, the venue is good too and we’ve met some good friends from the industry.”

About the show...
Expanding on the 2015 Show and held in Chelsea FC’s Directors boxes, the 2016 event featured products from 33 mills & distributors from the UK, Belgium, Spain, Italy and Turkey. 

The London Fabric Show 2016 gave British upholstery, bed and mattress manufacturers,CFC and retailers a unique opportunity to see some of the best fabrics available all at one, very exciting venue.

There were cottons, linens, velvets, chenille’s, bouclés, lining fabrics and tweeds, everything from mattress ticking to light and heavy duty jacquards will be on display.  There was also leathers, faux leathers and synthetic fabrics from which to choose.  The majority of the mills exhibiting had their own in-house design teams and offered buyers the opportunity to customise their fabric choices, ensuring exclusivity in designs and colour combinations. Both domestic and contract fabrics were on show.

We will be showing new specialised fabrics with cotton, linen and viscose content as well as high density fine yarn warps.

  • Turkish Penelope started out as a jacquard design studio in 1963, and started upholstery production with the Penelope brand in 1995.
