Mobility Products 4 U is an online retailer of upholstery and bedding products, as well as mobility products, including riser recliner chairs, adjustable beds, wheelchairs, mobility scooters, and walking aids.
Robert Winchurch started his career in the furniture industry way back in 1959, initially working in the bedding department for Birmingham Cooperative Society’s Furniture Store.
His journey took him through various roles in retail, including Parker Knoll, where he served as an assistant showroom manager in Birmingham before joining Myers as a sales representative for the North Midlands and North Wales.
Afterwards, he spent a period with a Schreiber wholesaler, Gunergrove Ltd, before returning to the retail sector with Byrite in Stoke-on-Trent. In 1978, he established his retail store in Stafford. Twenty-five years later, the store closed down in 2003, and he retired to North Wales. Two weeks after moving, he was approached to assist with a promotional sale for five days at Dodrefn Perkins Furniture in Caernarfon, where he stayed for six years until, unfortunately, age and arthritis caught up with him.
After another brief period of retirement, Mobility Products 4 U was launched in 2010. Over the past 13 years, it has evolved into a leading online retailer of British-made furniture and bedding, specialising in providing the best possible service for prospective buyers of adjustable beds, riser recliner chairs, and other varieties of mobility furniture and products.
Now approaching 80, Robert has his sights set on further growing his business, with a potential retirement date of 2034, by which time he will have celebrated his 90th birthday.
