Two regional meetings and a specialised HR forum for September and October will offer networking opportunities for industry professionals.

British Furniture Manufacturers (BFM) has announced details of a series of industry events set to take place this autumn.

The national trade body has planned two regional meetings and a specialised HR forum for September and October.

All three will offer networking opportunities for industry professionals and will be hosted by BFM member companies or suppliers.

BFM MD Phil Spademan said: “Regional meetings and forums are a key part of BFM’s work to provide learning opportunities to members and facilitate networking that nurtures meaningful connections and adds value to businesses.

“Our thanks go to Whitemeadow Furniture, Mobus Fabrics and Businesswise Solutions for working with us to provide this excellent range of industry sessions.”

The autumn calendar starts on Tuesday 17 September with an HR Best Practice and Networking Forum for HR personnel at Whitemeadow Furniture in Nottinghamshire.

Starting at 11.30am, the event will bring together HR professionals in BFM membership to discuss common challenges. To register interest email Joanna.privett@bfm.org.uk.

On Thursday 26 September, Businesswise Solutions, based in Lancashire, will host ‘Creating a Greener Tomorrow for British Furniture Manufacturers – Harnessing Collective Insights to Drive ESG and Energy Innovations.’

The regional meeting will start with a networking lunch, followed by introductions to speakers and roundtable discussions on topics including the rise of ESG in furniture manufacturing and weaving ESG into business strategy.

Mobus Fabrics host the next regional meeting on Thursday 17 October, which will focus on the range of greener alternatives to FR Chemicals.

Starting with a networking lunch, the event will include a lab tour at Mobus Fabrics’ West Yorkshire site, followed by talks with Q&A sessions.

Phil Spademan added: “We’re confident that members attending our autumn events will discover new insights and strengthen industry connections, alongside gaining a deeper understanding of vital business functions including strategic ESG, innovation in sustainability or best practice in HR.”
