An MP who worked in the furniture sector for 15 years will officially open the first ever Furniture Component Expo hosted by British Furniture Manufacturers (BFM).
Mark Eastwood – a strong advocate for the furniture industry - is Conservative MP for Dewsbury and current Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Furniture Industry Group (APPFIG).
Mr Eastwood will cut the ribbon at the inaugural Furniture Component Expo at Telford International Centre.
The event takes place over two days, on 24 and 25 April, 2024.
He said: “I am delighted to be opening the BFM’s Furniture Component Expo.
“It’s important to identify new opportunities for the industry to come together and this event from the BFM is a great example of that.”
The expo is set to attract a broad spectrum of delegates, providing a setting for manufacturers of furniture to review, network and purchase products across the whole supply chain.
Phil Spademan, BFM’s Managing Director, said: “Mark has long championed the furniture and furnishings industry at the highest level of government and we are delighted he is coming to Telford International Centre to officially open the Furniture Component Expo.
“Following the opening ceremony, he’ll be joining a tour of the event, allowing him to see first hand the creation of new links and partnerships taking shape between furniture-makers and the components sector.
“The expo is an opportunity for suppliers to the furniture industry to expand their business and give manufacturers a route to discover new and innovative ideas.
“We’ve had a great deal of interest and were delighted to receive support from headline sponsors Vita Group and BeA Group, alongside registration sponsor Carpenter Limited and DispatchTrack, sponsors of the seminar theatre.”
With more than 50 exhibitors and a packed programme of seminars covering topics from automation and best practice to exporting and training, BMF’s Furniture Component Expo will put quality products, services and innovation, centre stage.
